OHJA JUMPER MEDAL

OHJA Jumper Medal

 

A minimum of three (3) riders must complete the course for points to count. If less than 3 riders do not complete the course the round will count as an attempt if the rider completes the course.

Two refusals will incur elimination.

No cross entry at a height of 1.0 meters/ 3.3 feet or higher at the same competition.

Course shall be run as a Table II.

The OHJA Jumper Medal must be conducted over jumper-style fences and the course shall have a minimum of ten (10) numbered fences at a height not to exceed .90 meters. Oxers should have a maximum spread of .90 meters. The course may include one in-and-out combination, a triple bar and/or a dry Liverpool (if included it must be set as an option). The OHJA Jumper Medal shall be judged on the rider’s equitation style, technical merit, judgment and execution of an efficient, time saving pace and track.  One (1) point will be subtracted from the rider’s score for each commenced second over the time allowed and four (4) points will be deducted for each knockdown on course. Jumper tack must be in accordance with the USEF Rule JP 111, with the exception that no draw reins or German martingales are allowed. At the judge’s discretion, there may be a flat test following the over fences round.

This jumper medal is introductory for the 2025 competition year. There will be a Medal Final for the OHJA Jumper Medal in this introductory year.  To qualify for Medal Final a rider must earn 5 points or have 3 attempts.

 

Braiding the horse is optional.

1st - 10 pts

2nd - 6 pts

3rd - 4 pts

4th - 2pts

5th - 1 pt

6th - 1/2 pt
