OHJA Programs

The OHJA is proud to offer educational, financial, and equitation programs to its members:

Medal Finals

OHJA Medal classes are for equitation riders who seek to compete at the highest level within their respective divisions (2’6”, 3’,  3’3”, and 3’6”).  Riders who qualify by attaining enough points throughout the year are eligible to compete in the OHJA Medals Finals competition that takes place at the end of each horse show season. Medal Finals allow riders to apply their riding skills and test their horsemanship knowledge in this competitive program.

Junior Equestrian Fund

The Junior Equestrian Fund (“JEF”) presents opportunities for junior members to volunteer with fun, fundraising events that raise money that young riders (21 and under) can apply for to help defray costs of attending a national Finals competition.

Education

Throughout the show season, the OHJA offers informative educational seminars to our members. We provide access to top professionals who educate on topics that are important to our members.

Scholarship

The OHJA awards academic scholarships for up to three applicants each year. Learn more about our scholarship program and the process to apply.

Local System Medal Finals

The Local System Medal Finals Program provides financial assistance to Local System members, both juniors, and amateurs, who compete in the OHJA Medal Finals.

Special Classes

Throughout the horse show season, the OHJA offers special classes that raise money for the JEF and the OHJA and are a lot of fun.  Learn more about our special classes.

Special Awards

The OHJA recognizes and honors our hardworking volunteers and competitors each year at the Annual Awards Banquet and Fundraiser held in early January.  Learn more about these awards (many of which are application based), and see the names of prior recipients of these awards.
