Michael McMullen
Perpetual Trophy For High Scoring 12-13 Year Old Established by Sue & Gene McMullen
As a junior rider, Sue McMullen rode near the Oregon Zoo with Johnny Johnson at Highland School of Riding. When Highland was sold, Sue became a professional trainer. Sue and her husband are retired and live in central Oregon. Michael McMullen was the son of Sue and Gene McMullen. While Sue and her clients were attending a horse show at Bridle Trail State Park in Bellevue, Washington, her 13-year-old son Michael’s life came to a tragic end. The Michael McMullen Perpetual Trophy honors Michael and is awarded to the rider accumulating the highest number of points in the 12-13 year old age division at the OHJA Year End Horse Show.
